Hampshire college

Throughout my college career (2017 - 2021) I have taken on many roles in indie development classroom environments. My most notable positions have been game designer and producer for a lot of great student work. My biggest projects are laid out below from my senior thesis, Iaijutsu, to my solo-dev Galaxy Shooter game. Remember to check the project title for more info!

Iaijutsu
in development

For my senior thesis, I work as lead producer on a 5-person team managing the scheduling, playtesting, and publishing efforts for Iaijutsu. Iaijutsu is a 2D, side scrolling action game that merges cyberpunk aesthetics with samurai culture with a focus on tense, acrobatic sword duels that emphasize lethality, precision, and mobility. I have learned to use Jira, Confluence, and agile development frameworks in-depth during my time on this project. I also assisted with level design and game documentation.

Galaxy shooter
Jan 22 - May 5, 2020

In this solo-dev project for an independent study, using pre-existing design documentation, I programmed this Galaxy Shooter game from the ground up. You can download a playable build with enemies, powerups, and cool post-processing enhanced explosions below.

Gods of Orenos
February 1 - march 4, 2019

I acted as producer for this Twitch.tv integrated, quest-based deck builder on a team of 6. I managed Trell of or the first time, managed milestones, put together presentations, and created the project website. I also created card designs, screen mockups, and concept card art.

Cosmia: cosmic solitaire
In development

On a 31-person team, I acted as lead producer for Cosmia, a solitaire-based matching game set in space. I managed Trello, set task priority, held meetings with teams and individuals, and created the website and game trailer. The game has 3 tiers of difficulty where players aim to match tokens to create food and feed an enormous space baby!

Please turn off the lights
March 1 - April 28, 2019

On this 7-person team, I acted as producer, crafting our production schedule, managing assets, and helping with minor polish tasks like implementation of particle effects. Please Turn Off the Lights is a Twitch integrated puzzle game where Anabelle turns off the lights to prepare for bed while enemies hide in the ever-growing shadows. As more lights are turned off, the monsters can move around more, but the player will also be closer to winning.

into the woods
september 5 - december 13, 2018

I acted as game designer for this solo analog board game where 2-4 players rush through the woods by rolling dice and combining the results in various ways to attack, move, and trigger abilities. I conducted playtesting, designed and printed the game components, and iteratively refined the game rules.

Build-a-cult
september 1 - october 1, 2017

As game designer for this resource management style card and dice game, I playtested the design of a god character based on Lovecraftian lore to identify areas of confusion, enjoyment, and unintended design consequences. I also developed the rulesheet and game design document alongside my four teammates revolving around sacrificing cultists to summon your god.
